ok thats about a week worth. you can always keep up with us on You Tube: SmartSonya ahahahah i named my channel that because it was middle of the night when i finally figured out HOW to post something to You tube. with an old Flip i think those things were called. :+} moving into the 21st century

Got back from our trip to CA a wk ago today. The idea to fly back home was the best!! even if our van rental was over a 1000.00 but tickets were only 500.00!! for both of us! Still We got up at 2:00 a.m their time and left my sweet friend’s house and drove to SFO (where they had weird ‘art’ hanging from the ceiling) cked in the rent a van and grabbed a small bite to eat and arrived at gate as they were loading!! Oh yes i had a frencie in tow to be delivered in AR. ahahahah anything to help a friend! So allow me to back up.

We left the 4th of July at midnight loaded down with 11 bullmastiff puppies. The 4th was a Sat and i had worked all day and driven to our airport XNA 45 min away to pick up the rent a van. I wanted to head out about 8:00 but Joy had family fire works and i wasn’t even ready until midnight i just never stopped working. I picked Joy up in Springdale at her house run by Arvest to take a out a little cash for the trip and the ATM Said sorry we will not give any many $$$. i wanted to scream. but B of A was right now down the street so they came thru for us (and to think I almost closed my account last wk i was mad at them!) So we are off like a herd of turtles for the creek but didn’t drive far when tiredness over came me and i was falling asleep. I thought to myself. If i could just find a church and get an hr or two. So trying to hear from God we pulled off of I 40 West and sure enough right there on left was a very large parking lot with a white church setting to the far west side. We pulled in (joy was already asleep and so were all the puppies) and I put on my eye covering (i call it my eye ball bra ahahah) and in few seconds was fast asleep. at 3:30 a.m. i awake to something tapping on my window. It was a police man. ahahaha i must have jumped not having seen his flash light. I rolled my window down part way (the van was still running with the air on high) and told him we were taking a load of puppies to CA!! he just laughed at us. He knew i was telling the truth as he had already viewed the sleeping puppies in the back. I shook myself awake and was glad to be back on the road. I drove until 5:00 when the sun started to come up and Joy woke up. we stopped and got her some coffee and found one little girl puppy in the back not having a good time. She road the rest of the trip up front with us. All the big ones back there had injured her right front leg a bit. I rested about an hour and half while Joy drove. she is very good driver. I was so blessed to have her along. We switched off driving the entire trip.

We made Phoenix a little after 8:00 pm Sunday night. We left 40 about after Gallop NM and drove down thru a national forest. at first it looked more like a desert then there was lots of pine trees then when we started seeing the Saguaro Cactus we knew were getting closer to Phoenix. My friend Cindi lives in New Queens i think is name of town outside of Phoenix. kind of a new town. it was SOOOO amazing to see her!! and what an Oasis for us and the tired puppies. She had a lovely huge pen with kiddy swimming pool and fake grass and lots of water pails set up and they played until after 1:00 a.m.!!!! It was amazing to get to finally meet in person my sweet friend. She has Ridik a bullmastiff from me. I think he’s 8 or 9 years old. she had also gotten a sweet female from me Bella but Bella has passed. And she got 2 puppies this early spring. :+}

We loaded up and were ready to go after our visiting and showering the next morning by 9:30. As i loaded the last puppy to make 11 Cindi ask me “are you driving to Tucson?” i said NO No time and quickly unloaded dark green girl from Holly litter! feeling terrible stupid for not having called that pick up hours ago. Still we had to get on the road or we were very concerned about traffic getting to San Juan Capistrano. Cindi did that delivery for me. Thank you LORD! We did run into a little but nothing like 5 o’clock traffic in CA. We made it by 4:30 to our next destination; Maddy’s house. Where she was so kind and Gracious to allow us to do our next 5 deliveries there. (and her boy Brock ) She had shade and huge area baby gated off for puppies to play and every time a pickup person would call and say I can’t find you (she lived on top of a small mountain thru a gated community) i’d hand my phone to Maddy and she would say “where are YOU?” ahahah and get them right to us. :+} in less than 2 hrs we had met everyone and went thru puppy packs and played with the puppies while they ran around and were happy to get out of van.

We left there with only 4 puppies in van. Two of which were picked up the next day and two we had until Sat when we had made our way up north to Livermore.

When we arrived at the beach house late Monday afternoon (Maddy’s beach house she SO graciously allowed us to use AND had 2 refrigerators FULL of food! and the counter too!) long before dark we were over come by God’s GREAT Grace and blessing to us. the house was delightful! when you walk out you are ON this private beach. Maddy said when she purchased it in the 1970’s she owned part of the beach. pretty cool! and even though there had been a very very bad storm July 4th and had done some damage to the beach we were so grateful just to be there. we run out and sunk our toes in the sand and listened to the waves pound the shore and took in all the salt in there air. the salt REALLY is in the air and corrodes the metal on everything. Met our neighbors and their pets. :+}

We didn’t leave the beach house until Thursday morning. Wednesday Joy and I got on the two cute pink and yellow bikes with baskets we found in the finished out garage. ahahah OH what fun we had!! me trying to learn to ride again and her looking like it was a breeze!! We spent several hours riding that day along the beach and on over to Dana Point Harbor where we got ice cream and visited some gift shops. Neither one of us had packed much $$ so when we got back to the beach house we cleaned up and drove back over and had dinner outside by the harbor. it was prefect!! Joy such a lovely breeze and folks running to get out of my way before i ran them over! ahahah one gentlemen when we made it back down beach row that had seen me pedal out said “hey you are getting the hang of it!” we both laughed! it was a delightful day!! Met more neighbors and swam with some of them. the under tow was pretty strong but having spend several summers in FL myself as a child I understood how they work and was able to navigate out past them. still unless you were really a ways out the waves would crash on top of your head at times. ahahah you know you kind of bob in the ocean. the salt water helps holds you up. It was an adventure.

Thursday we arrived in Moorpark at another friends house. What a delight to get to see her also. Joy had family friend drive down from Bakersville (almost 2 hrs) to pick her up so they could visit and I got to visit with Whitney (and rest a few min on the couch) ahah Whitney such a darling child. she played and played with her toys up stairs and down stairs. The one time she got quiet at 3:30 it woke me up. I didn’t realize she was leaving that night with her aunty. I wish i had stayed awake and played more with her.

That night Chef Todd Noel and Barbie husband, Tim, made us steak and lobster tail. it was lovely!! Joy got back late that night and kind of hung out in her room. We did turn in early. The next night I stayed up late listening to Chef Todd tell stories about his life and adventures. :+} he’s very entertaining. Friday we got to ride horses. One of Todd’s daughters was there and she really wanted to ride. I was thrilled to get to ride Barbie’s amazing black horse, Cuero. As soon as we put the horses up we rushed off to have our nails dones. ahahah i’ve NEVER had my toe nails done. and Now i remember why i don’t get my nails done. just like my hair that grow SO fast i have to color every 3 wks or i look like some homeless person that only does their hair every 6 months. yes my nails grow that fast so it’s a losing battle to keep them ‘filled in’ but I really like how pretty they are! they dipped them. didn’t have that 25 years ago the last time i had my nails done! We girls had a fun time and Barbie paid for it all!! When we got back to Barbie’s got in the swimming pool and floated around while. I got some sun on my legs as Joy and I both had a large hat on. :+} Chef Todd cooked for us again. Between taking care of the puppies and playing with Barbie Frencies we had a full day!

Joy and I got up early the next morning and took off at 7:30 to drive the 5 hours to Livermore. had a wonderful drive. We laughed and talked and prayed and prayed! I finally wore Joy out and she fell asleep. It seemed like it took an hour to get to Livermore! where our last two pick up meet us at Juley’s house. I haven’t gotten to hug my sweet precious friend in 9 years!! I’m not sure who was more emotional her or I. We had a lovely visit. swimming in her pool with her two twins girls that really growing up!! ahahah oh to be 12 again! We had good take out sushi for dinner and fell into bed about 10:00 (which was midnight our time) to get up at 2:00 a.m. to head to the airport to fly home. it was an amazing trip!! God is sooooo good to us!!

I’m trying to get some photo up of our trip. Joy was amazing and so much help! Yes i’ve been home a wk working from before sun up until after 11:00 sometimes midnight. The Brene litter is sleeping all night now. yeah me!! the Sadie litter is out house with Tim. learning to go outside to poop and pee. yeah him! I’m not out there much. But i need to so more pix of them. Lily and Emme did help me get pix last wk of them. about time to choose our puppies.

Giggles delivered today. it was not good. she had 13 in there. 6 born dead. one boy took a few breaths then never breathed again. brought 6 home already lost another girl. I couldn’t be more sad. and disappointed. She was only 59 day TODAY she was a bit fussy yesterday but last night she laid down beside me and slept all night. i let her out at 6:00 when i got up and nursed the Layla litter and let dogs in and out changed Piper puppy water all the things you do and I laid back down until after 8:00 I decided to go ahead and take her in and arrived at vet at 11:15 i had OFA appointments for 1:30 dr Ron was busy so i ran on into Green Forest and picked up something i had order at the feed store there. came back and Dr Ron had went to lunch so a little after 1:00 we got Giggles in operating room. first one came out dead and stiff. :o{ next one too. next one alive. and that’s how it went. I had oxygen going in their covered and heated puppy box. I don’t know why this girl seized and died after we got home. If i would have taken them yesterday i think they all would have been alive. but she never was IN labor. no discharge to speak of. strange it was the boys that were dead. so right now i have one male and 4 females. and one of the girls is hanging on. this is certainly NOT how i expected this to go today. As all these puppies have paid deposits. SAdie is due next wk. and she is really full too.

I did manage to get in walk. i always feel better and walking and talking with Father God. just a lovely sun set tonight.

Granny’s climbing rose have climbed 10 to 12 feet into the air into some of the trees along the road. and we have had SO much rain it’s keep the washed off. i need to do a video of them. Goody went with me.

I uploaded a video from Sat night when I was at Kingston with my sister and we were walking the dogs and Taffy keep walking and we lost her it was way past sunset and my phone was dying and it wasn’t good. Thank God Tonya found her. she took the branch off the main road and i kept to the main road. I was pretty grateful to have my Taffy back. I had Goody on a leash and Tonya had Monet on a leash. I think she got so far ahead of us then jumped a deer or a rabbit and took off. I’ve never lost her when her and I walk together because i’m paying attention to her (not my sister)

So who could write without saying something about the state of affairs in our sad grieving nation tonight. my heart hurts for the hurting. But the truth is good can not come from Evil. that is “the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God” KJV James 1:20 We must not be overcome with evil but over come evil with good. It’s not ok to be in agreement with Evil. that is the evil done by the police officer OR the evil done by the looters/protestors . if you are in agreement with stealing and killing you are sewing into that and you will reap what you sow. It’s not ok to destroy and burn building and businesses. any more than it would be ok to burn and destroy YOUR own house. See we know it’s WRONG when it’s done to us. We KNOW in our conscience what is right and wrong. when it’s done to US. well that’s all together different. No it’s not. We did a book a while back on Wed night. called The Very Good Gospel ~ Lisa Sharon Harper I keep hearing her echo “if it’s not good news for EVERYBODY then it’s really not good news is it?” I will say this book challenged me and i’m glad. I will say i’ve never before stepped into the shoes of this (beautiful black) woman and see things from her point of view and it crushed me, the way she was treated in jr high and high school. I mean children can be so cruel. I had plenty of it in my own growing up day. Not wearing the latest fashion ( often recall having holes in my shoes we got one pair a year you know) or really fitting in any where. kids making fun of me. still. If you do not know about this outspoken and very well spoken women just google her name. The second part of her title: How everything wrong can be made right. and isn’t that the REAL Gospel? there is Hope is Christ. off to bed for me until time to feed again. I have four stable puppies in the box.

Saturday. Cut up bull today. always sad to see neighbors lose live stock. still makes the dogs happy! weather warming up. in the summer you have to be fast and efficient to get the meat chilled or it spoils. I uploaded a couple of video. Good neighbor’s bull. was down in his back leg. :+{ always sad. I hate it for our friends.

SOOOO I got TWO calls today one from guy in OR said he almost got scammed out of $$$ on a bullmastiff puppy and another from guy in WY that DID get scammed. I always feel SO BAD for these people. Their heart is hurting they just lost their best friend and someone rips them off! I understand FAther God Loves everyone but please know God is not mocked what so ever a man sows THAT is what he will reap. Reap on you evil people!! all the trouble and heartache you have caused others.

I got to feed Holly puppies twice today as Tim was working on that huge bull. (yes, i helped a litte) I uploaded some video of them . She was 146 on scale at vet’s and she is in good flesh. still she a nice large girl. and loves her puppies AND keeps them CLeAN! what more could Tim ask for?? gives tons of milk and keeps babies clean!

Chip’s litter finally leaving out after some diarrhea. i’ve use $60.00 or more of the pink probiotic in a tube and some meds. If i knew the secret to keeping them from sucking on one another and blowing into diarrhea. I’d save myself some grief.

Off to fed one more time before midnight. Hope I answered everyone emails today! crazy trying to keep up with the requests for puppies. I’m SO glad we got Sadie bred. her first litter and she will be three in Aug. and Brene to Turbo for a brindle litter.

SO Layla had her litter yesterday I got a couple hrs of sleep at a time and Holly Berry delivered today. Holly has 8 lovely RED puppies well two of them are FAWN a male and a female. :+}

Layla had 2 brindles one male one female 2 fawns and 1 very red male puppy. :+}

Everyone is home and doing well. Tim has the Holly litter out at the house with him. So not sure how many pix we are going to get of those guys. i did do one video i’ll upload tonight Holly was 146 on scale today. she is good and heavy and MAN does she have the milk! Thank goodness Tim will not need to give a bottle. I’ve been trying to give the Chip puppies that don’t get a good tit a bottle and they spit it out and look at me like i’m trying to poison them. ahahaha nothing taste like mommy milk!! so i just stay in there and move them around until every one get full. she is making a lot of milk.

Piper puppies are finally using their box to poop in ! always feels like success! down to 4 nursing a day and eating the 75.00 a bag kibble really good.

Im up and down most of the night but got a couple extra hr this morning so i feel fine. It’s when i work till midnight work from 2:00 to 3:00 or 4:00 get up and 6:00 and have to work the next day till midnight that catches up with me after a while.

Off to bed with me. i did upload a video but no pix yet. tomorrow. :+}

So my puppy girl didn’t make it. she passed a little before 7:00 last night. Once they get chilled it shuts down their gut. she had not nursed since late Monday night and vomited up some undigested milk :+{ I can’t help but take it hard. It’s the sad depressing side of breeding. having to bury them. Tim was so kind he did it last night. Out by the big pond where Sirichia is buried. When i took my walk at almost dark I walked out there.

My room is mess I’m a mess. I looked around and thought hey girl you need to get this place straightened back up! All I did yesterday was tend to that puppy. I did get some sleep between feeding last night. Tim was working cattle this morning and it didn’t even wake me up!

Piper litter eating out of bowl better. I sent Tim to got one of those $75.00 for 17.6 lbs bags of special kibble as one of my boys blew into diarrhea this morning. their little stomaches are so immature at this age. I know i should just cook for them but they over eat when i do that. and i like the idea of them eating when ever they are hungry not just set times. they gain weight better.

So the guys coming to get this load of steers (well NOT steers Tim didn’t band them when they were born) and they are out there bawling to their mummies. I think we are going to purchase a couple of REAL Steers from this same guys to put up and fatten out. the price has just dropped out of the bottom of cattle. very sad. Tim’s cattle always are as fat as they could possible be. The guys that comes and buys them loves Tim’s healthy fat cattle.

it’s only early afternoon. been up since 5:00 a.m.

when i fed and finally got in bed at 1:20 one of Chip’s girls was not as warm as she should have been and she was pooping water. scream! i got her warmed and thought she would be fine in their hot box with blanket on top absolutely NO draft and 150 watt red lamp hanging low but when i got up at few minutes after 5:00 and got in the box she was chilled again. :+{ I tubed her more fluids and held her against me until she warmed up. every time i put her down she cried so I just put her on my chest as I lay on couch listening to the other nurse for an hour. I made her a warm box with heating pad and hot water bottle. I tubed her every hour with just pedialyte as she didn’t nurse at 5:00 she was too weak. the things that make my job the most difficult. Still she was just pooping water! been giving meds for that. finally broke down and used some Pepto. Got to stop this loss of fluids. i put salve on her bottom that helped her screaming when she pooped. . and held her when she cried. i’ve got her on sub Q fluids now. Praying this baby girl makes it.

It’s so hard to hear them cry. :+{ I keep telling her what a lovely girl she is going to grow up and be and how much her family is going to love her.

My Piper box i got up baby gating yesterday. they turned 3 wks old. working on potty training them. I locked them IN the box last night. It’s full of lovely clean shredded papers. it keeps them dry. No need to be warm. it was 80 degrees in here last night I was sweating like pig and smelling like one too! Tina slept out on top of a blanket then i hung one from side of baby gating and she gets under it. She’s a hoot! she’s going to be something else. some of them have had loose stool. i know at this age when they start eating they try poop. GAG i know. and it blows them into diarrhea. I’m constantly monitoring who’s pooping what. giving them probiotics to balance back out their system.

It’s been a week since we have mowed lawn and my new little helpers, 13 year old twin boys that live down the road, are coming to help but i’m out on that today. still setting with this puppy. constantly cking her temperature. and holding her so she doesn’t stress herself crying around. I missed Giggle’s ultra sound and my hair cut. I think i could put pigtails in my hair! it’s WILD and long. ahaha I used to have long hair but had a beauty shop accident since 2006 it’s been short and i love it. It’s so grey it’s easy to color every 3 wks being this short. Yes i have to color EVERY 3 wks!! it grows SO fast. every time i see my sweet little friend that cut my hair she exclaims Man your hair grows fast! ahahah i said i know and i’ve cut it at least twice since you have seen me last. I adore my sweet little friend that cuts my hair. She went to school with my kids.

You know I still miss my Dessy. But I know she is waiting on the other side!

ahahah that was a long time ago. never gripe about your appearance. in 10 years you will look back and say MAN i looked good back then. ahahah!! Perspective folks!!

SOOO trying to get back to blogging. I used to blog about an hour a day. I lost a couple of years when i was blogging on the vista print web site. but there are still a few years on this wordpress website. also did VERY little on the Wix web site. here is link to that one. LINK ahahah i went from 2,000 words a day to only once a month if that. i found the Wix blog not user friendly AT ALL and moving here living in an old milk barn on a cattle farm there is always work to be done.

So i’m back. we will see If i can manage to share on here. One reason I like to blog is if people only knew what we do to raise their puppy. and i love to share the Goodness of our GOOD God! I breath in and i breath out and without God that would not even be possible. really for any of us. As God gave us life and breath.

So this has changed a little bit i’ll be learning a few new things. let me see if i can post a pix!

trying out this new Word press blog site. well i HAD a word press site and somehow while Wix.com was trying to help me it errased the saved pass word and since i can no longer assess my mail at Cox.net because they refuse to allow people to take their email with them when they move out of the area cox services (how stupid is that?!) i can’t reset it. SO here goes.. now this one is costing me monthly. thanks Wix for making my life more difficult.

now to see if i can add pix. had a full dog. i tell you just moving dogs in and out and giving every one enough out time is a full time job!
